Alyssa's ramblings...

Well, Peter won Big Brother. I guess that’s good, because his mum and dad both died just recently (within a year of each other), so he has the mortgage to pay off, and his brother and sister to support. I think he played that “feel sorry for me” persona a bit too often, though. Marty’s cool. He’s happy-go-lucky and funny... I’m really glad he made it as far as he did. He wants to marry Jess! And I quote:

(M=Marty, P=Peter, S=Sahra – the three remaining housemates at the time)

M: “Pete, you know what? This week this house has taught me that I want to marry Jess.”
(Pete and Sahra’s face show astonishment)
P: “No!” (Looks at the remote camera) “Cameras, get back.”
S: “Did you hear that?”
M: “Don’t! I was just saying that to you guys. Don’t make a big thing.”
S: “It is a big thing.”
M: “It’s not.”
P: “I look at you and want to kiss you.” (Pete kisses Marty)
S: “Wow! I’ve never seen Pete kiss before, so that is something big.”
M: “It’s made me realize she’s an awesome girl.”
P: “She’s an awesome girl.”
M: “I didn’t want to say it because I’ve still got something to sort out there. She’s just been sensational to me and I miss her so much already and it’s only been a week.”
(After a brief diversion the conversation continues)
S: “So, are you going to propose on the first night?”
M: “No, I’m not going to propose at all.”
P: “But, you said that you were going to marry her.”
M: “C’mon guys…”
S: “So, does that mean you have never felt this way?”
M: “I keep seeing little things, like I pull open the drawer and see Jess’ bracelet and it made me feel sad because I miss her. But, then she’s probably found someone else right now. So, what will I say?”
S: “Not going to happen.”

But then, at the final eviction, Gretel asked Marty about it, and this is what he said:

M: “Did you notice the glass of wine in front of me?” (laughs)
G: “Does that discount what you said?”
M: “No, it doesn’t...”

I personally think he is serious about it, and was just playing it down because he’s not sure whether Jess will feel the same, and he, of course, has to officially break it off with Jonelle (his girlfriend from before he entered the house) first. I think he’s also (maybe even most of all) worried about what his family and friends will think of him cheating on Jonelle, then wanting to marry ‘the other woman’, who he has only known for 3 months or so.

So, anyway, Big Brother’s over. :( Oooh, Smallville’s on tonight! And Rove Live – with all of the housemates!!! How exciting. No, my life does not revolve around TV!!! ;)
